From: Albrecht Heeffer NETPOINT BE> Date: 2 sep 1999 Subject: Re: Shogi Dojo Hello, Yes I can certainly recommend Shogi Dojo. The main difference with sites such as Javashogi is that in Shogi Dojo you have to register with a username and password. You will get a rating based on your grade and this rating is updates after every game you play in "the rating room". The effect is that people tend to play more seriously. I feel that I have thougher opponents on Shogi Dojo even if the grades are the same as on Javashogi. Also, you will see at least 50 people at any time of the day, sometimes growing over 300 on-line! >From a technical point, the Shogi Dojo applet is smaller and faster to download. It offers multiple board sizes, buyomi countdown, chat windows, watch feature, time preferences and above all, an English interface. To register point directly to: http://internet.shogidojo.com/members/registration/registration.htm A password will be mailed to you. When you arrive at the Japanese home page http://www.shogidojo.com click on "Shogi Dojo" en then on the shogi piece to start. This will load the applet. Indeed, you have to be outside of a firewall get started. Good luck, hope to see you all there!
