Subject: Beginner

I am new to Shogi, but feel the need to really get goo in the next month.
My father-in-law loves the game.  He taught me the basic moves when I was in
japan.  Since then I bought Fairborn's book and Leggett's book.  I have
finished leggett's book, and have purchased Shogi for the game boy advance.

Now here is my problem.  I can do a pretty good beginning game.  I know
about 4 different castle.  2 static, 2 ranging rooks.  But when I get to
this point I really don't know what to do next.  In otherwords I need help
with my middle game.

any suggestions?
