Subject: Standard size of shogi pieces?


I tried to look it up in shogi-l archieve but without success.

Is there a standard size for shogi pieces?

If not one size, is there a standard for the piece's proportions/angles?

I have never seen a shogi set o I wonder: are the pieces flat? Are they 
rounded or sharp-edged? Etc. etc. etc.

I there any description how to make a shogi set on your own?
